Organic Vermicompost Castings

Our certified organic vermicompost castings are a biologically rich soil input produced through a carefully managed vermiculture system here at Lion Farms in the Redlands of Miami. Rather than acting as a synthetic fertilizer, vermicompost functions as a living soil amendment that supports microbial activity, nutrient cycling, and long-term soil health.

These castings are suitable for a wide range of applications, including turf, trees, shrubs, raised garden beds, container gardens, and potted plants. They are especially valuable in systems focused on regenerative agriculture, organic production, and soil biology.

Why Vermicompost Works

Vermicompost is created as organic material passes through the digestive system of earthworms, transforming it into a stable, microbially active form of organic matter. This process enhances nutrient availability while supporting the soil food web.

All of our worms are raised on-site in Miami-Dade County within a closed-loop system and fed a consistent supply of locally sourced organic food scraps. This diverse organic feedstock contributes to the biological richness of the finished vermicompost and reflects our commitment to regional nutrient cycling and regenerative practices.

Our vermicompost is produced without synthetic additives and handled with care to preserve microbial life.

Usage Guidelines

• Planting holes: Add approximately ½ cup per planting hole prior to transplanting

• Soil blends: Mix up to 20% by volume into potting or garden soil

• Top dressing: Apply a ¼–½ inch layer around established plants

Earthworms or cocoons may be present in small quantities, indicating a living product.
